YES! Our course is developed by Virtual Institute Private School, an institution licensed by the California board of education and recognized by the Department of Motor Vehicles. This course is designed specifically for the State of California.

Can I use this course for both of my children?
Each child must register individually to receive credit for the course.

How old do I have to be to take this driver education course?
The state of California requires that you be at least 151/2 years of age.

Are home study driver education courses legal in California?
Yes! The courts have repeatedly held that home study driver education classes are legal and have ordered DMV to accept completion certificates issued by schools offering home study driver education classes.

Do I still need to take driver training?
Yes, after you complete our course, you still need to sign up with a local driver training school for six hours of behind the wheel instruction.

Are there any refunds on your drive red courses or programs.
Refunds are not given on home study driver ed materials that have already been shipped out, or online courses that have already been started. Refunds to courses that have not been sent out or started will result in a $10 fee to offset merchant account fees.
